About ME

After completing my B.Sc. degree in Psychology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2000, my husband and I moved to the North Shore of Oahu, HI, where I worked as an Academic Advisor at BYU-Hawaii. I’ve always known my calling was in the helping profession. In 2002, we left Hawaii and were fortunate to live in various parts of California, including San Diego, Davis, and Monterey before returning home to Bakersfield, CA in 2010. These moves provided me the opportunity to work with individuals of all ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, and cultures, enriching my experiences and gaining greater understanding of the challenges we face as humans. I discovered there’s an even greater obstacle people face than WHAT to eat: Invisible barriers that keep individuals locked into self-defeating habits. It was this discovery that piqued my interest and curiosity leading to my certification in Mind Body Eating Psychology.

The field of Mind Body Eating Psychology identifies and deconstructs these barriers recognizing the dynamic connections between our thoughts, beliefs, stress, and lifestyle on the health of our body and eating behaviors.
